Labor Day
Ages:
All
Invitations:
You can hand out small flags with the party information written on the flag with Sharpie.
Print invitations on the computer using a patriotic picture. Go to www.leehansen.com
for some free patriotic clipart. Roll the invites and tie with red, white and blue
curling ribbon.
Purchase miniature galvanize buckets and fill them with peppermint candy. Cover the bucket with cellophane or Seran Wrap and tie the top with red, white and blue curling ribbon.
If you're planning on having a potluck, send out 2 recipe cards per guest. Have the party info on the first card and have guests write down the recipe of the dish they are bringing. Have extra cards out during the party for those that want to write down some recipes.
If you are going for a picnic theme, purchase some red and white gingham stationary or use ant clipart to decorate your invites.
Decorations:
For a picnic theme, decorate with gingham patterned tablecloths and red, white balloons. Create some large ants out of black construction paper and place them on the tables.
For a red, white and blue theme, decorate with red, white and blue balloons and tablecloths. Use flags as decorations in dips and around the party area.

Some activites may include water balloon fights, guess the number of peppermints in a jar, bubble blowing, hoola hoops, jump ropes, frisbee throwing, yo-yo's, football toss and Twister.
Bring a couple of throw away cameras, you'll get some fun pictures.

It's not necessary to have goodie bags, but you can supply small treats for young children such as, stickers, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and coloring pages. You can also use the galvanize bucket invite as a goody bag.
Thank you Cards:
If you want to thank your guests for sharing Labor Day with you, place some mints in Seran Wrap and tie at the top with curling ribbon.
